Founder receives award

The Founder and Chairman of Models for Heroes, Malcolm Childs has received an award from Prime Minister Boris Johnson. The Points of Light Award is presented to outstanding volunteers showing dedication to a cause and making a difference in the community.

Once per day, the Prime Ministers Office at No. 10 Downing Street chooses a volunteer from the UK to be the days Point of Light. Malcolm makes the 1,605th Point of Light chosen.

Boris Johnson said “I was delighted to hear how you are using your love of modelling to support some of the most special people in our country, namely the veterans who have served our nation.”

“Through your model making groups, you offer a sense of belonging and community. ‘Models for Heroes’ is a fantastic initiative and a wonderful way of giving back to those who have given so much to their country.”
